Creating connections with colour that evoke positive emotions of happiness flow through Abbie Carnegy’s Art.

Abbie’s affinity with colour, light and texture was ignited during her childhood spent travelling in Africa, Australia, South East Asia, Europe, The Middle East, India and the USA. Her love of vibrant colours can be traced back to moments and memories, from beautiful spices piled high in the markets in Marrakesh, to the azure waters and sandy beaches of Zanzibar and to the bright white snow and crisp clear blue skies in the Swiss Alps.

Her journey incorporating a love of colour continued when Abbie went on to study for her Art Foundation at Newcastle College of Art before furthering her artistic knowledge with a degree in History of Art and an MA in Chinese Art at the University of Edinburgh. More recently, Abbie's passion for art continued when she studied Abstract Expressionism at Chelsea College of Art under George Blacklock, the former Dean and popular Abstract Expressionist.

Abbie spent a decade in the fashion and beauty industries which accelerated her love of colour, form and cutting edge aesthetics. Couture catwalks unlocked her appreciation of captivated audiences and story telling through colours that clash and compliment - through makeup, fabric and texture.

Abbie says ”I like to evoke positive emotions in my paintings. I hope my paintings emit an aura of ease and relaxation that spark joy and happiness. Behind the scenes is the conscious coupling and juxtapositioning of each and every colour, and the position of each and every brushstroke has been intellectually researched and arranged. Above all, I want my work to bring colour and happiness to a room.”
